Agriconsulting Europe SA has been awarded the “Programme for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth in the Fisheries Sector: Aquaculture component (CaPFish Aquaculture) - CKH1182"

Agriconsulting Europe SA has been awarded the “Programme for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth in the Fisheries Sector: Aquaculture component (CaPFish Aquaculture) - CKH1182”, a 5 years project from August 2019.

The project is financed by the European Commission and the French Agency for Development (AFD) and implanted by the Fisheries Administration (FiA) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Cambodia.
CaPFish Aqua is the most important programme on inland aquaculture sector in Cambodia.

The CaPFish-Aqua Programme will ensure sustainable, climate resilient and inclusive growth by integrating the poorest households into a continuum that allows them to progress is to contribute to the food security and socio-economic development of the communities involved in this activity.

The Programme outlines a holistic and comprehensive approach to support the sector that encompasses all the different component of the aquaculture value chain. It will support the development and scaling up of successful aquaculture systems, as well as the development and dissemination of more sustainable and efficient practices in the rapidly growing commercial sector. This action will contribute to the further strengthening of national capacities and systems.

Target groups of CaPFish-Aqua are small and medium-scale aquaculture producers, as well as commercial farms in the provinces around the Tonle Sap, the Mekong River and the floodplain and the currents area of the Mekong. Within these three regions, the program will primarily focus on areas of the following provinces: Pursat, Battambang, Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Banteay Meanchey, Kandal, Takeo, Prey Veng, Kampong Chhnang.

The technical assistance will provide global project management support to FiA/MAFF in the implementation of the programme to reach the expected results in assisting the National Team (the FiA staff) in the overall management and coordination of activities: planning, accounting, monitoring and evaluation, procurement, etc.  A special emphasis should be put on strengthening the capacities of the FiA/MAFF.”
