Description of the project and Services provided:
The project aims at improving and sustaining the consumer protection by a restructured, consolidated and efficient food safety and control system.
The immediate objective of the project is the adjustment of the institutional legal and administrative framework of the food safety system in Albania, in line with the process of approximation of acquis in the field
The services provided were:
- Institutional assessment and strengthening
- Policy advice
- Drafting of Food Legislation and its harmonisation with the EU acquis
- Training design and delivery
- Design and implementation of public awareness campaign
- Enforcement of the information system and RASFF.
- Enforcement of the risk assessment and risk management systems as well as of the Crisis Management unit.
