The project overall objective is to contribute to the peace consolidation, reconciliation and sustainable economic recovery in eastern DRC by closely monitoring the ongoing development actions in the Region.
The specific objective is to contribute to the ongoing programs coordination and supervision in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in support to the NAO, the EUD and the concerned stakeholders.
More specifically:
• to ensure the follow-up of all the rural electrification, rural development and tourism development projects at Virunga National Park (VNP) level which are implemented in the framework of the “Environment and sustainable agriculture” financing agreement in line with the 11th EDF:
• capacity building of the VNP to allow a better follow-up of the interventions of construction / rehabilitation of the priority infrastructures
• Support other EU projects in the East, strengthen their complementarity and ensure follow-up and technical assistance for rural infrastructure actions (renewable energy ) or other specific needs that arise during the implementation;
• Provide logistical support to EU and COFED missions in eastern DRC.
