The overall objective of the project of which this contract will be a part, is to improve the reporting of GHG emission and removals and thereby facilitate the compliance with international reporting requirements and support decision-making on initiatives to contribute to the global efforts to mitigate climate change in line with the scientific evidence.
The purpose of this contract is as follows:
• To support Turkey to improve the knowledge and capacity to estimate and report greenhouse gas emissions and removals from the LULUCF sector in according to decisions taken under the UNFCCC as well as EU decisions regarding LULUCF thus following the IPCC guidelines. Improved knowledge of GHG emissions and removals provides the basis for enhanced analytical capacity .
