In October 2015, the Council adopted the Gender Action Plan II (2016-2020), a new framework for the EU's activities on gender equality and women's empowerment in EU's external relations. The project is based on to the correct and effective implementation of the EU GAP II throughout the West Bank and Gaza and on the attainment of Gender Equality and Sustainable Development Goals. The gender country profile will provide an understanding of the extent of gender inequality in the West Bank & Gaza and its causes, how it intersects with other inequalities, its impacts on human rights and/or benefits of development and the PA’s commitment and capacity to work on GEWE issues. Moreover The Gender Country Profile is expected to update the 2015 GCP and how the EU and EU MS support on GEWE (Gender Equality Women Empowerment) can be improved in the light of the EU Joint Programming effort.
